Couch Conversations – Mental Health Month

Posted at 14 Oct 2020

Need to talk? Are you or someone you know struggling and needing some support?

October is Mental Health month, and with the year we have all had, it’s important to check in on ourselves.
Reminder; It is okay not to be okay.

Starting Monday 19th October, Wests Group Macarthur is inviting members to put their mental health first.

Come take a seat with our mental health & community support partners Lifeline MacarthurMentoring Men, & Youth Solutions in one of our dedicated (and completely free) Couch Conversation sessions.

We will supply the coffee and cake so you can take a break.

Book in your personal chat with the community partner of your choice via the links below, to find out how they can help you more –

Lifeline provides all Australians experiencing a personal crisis no matter how big or how small with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. @LifelineMacarthur supports the local community with several key community services including Crisis support, Suicide prevention support, Suicide bereavement support, Financial counselling services, and community and corporate training.

◾ To see Youth Solutions – https://bit.ly/33UKcqF

The Youth Solutions Program team will be on hand for parents and carers with information and support around youth drug and alcohol prevention and health promotion for young people 12 – 25 years of age. Youth Solutions works across the Macarthur and Wingecarribee regions of NSW, delivering health education programs, campaigns and activities aimed at reducing and preventing our community’s young people from experiencing the harms of drugs and alcohol.

◾ To see Mentoring Men – https://bit.ly/2IhQJ6c

There’s a lot of pressure to be the guy who has everything sorted as you balance family, kids and friends. While you’re busy making sure everyone else is okay, there’s not a lot of room left for what you want from life. And finding that mate you can trust and chat with about your challenges isn’t easy.

Mentoring Men is a free service that carefully matches you with another adult male who is trained to listen, support and help you to define your goals in life. Mentoring Men also provides referrals to other professional service providers depending on your needs.
