Western Suburbs League Club (Campbelltown)

Western Suburbs League Club (Campbelltown)

Club History

Wests started out as Campbelltown City Kangaroos Club in 1970. The Club first opened its doors for trading as Campbelltown City Leagues Club in August 1974 with a purpose of supporting the Campbelltown City Kangaroos Rugby League Football Club and encouraging sport throughout the community.

It was renamed Western Suburbs League Club in 1987, following the move of Western Suburbs Rugby League Football Club to Campbelltown and the take over of Club operations by Wests Leagues Club at Ashfield. Initially the Board of the Club was formed with a majority of Wests Ashfield directors, but they retired in 1996 and a local Board was elected, a situation that remains to this day.

From this time on, Wests has engaged in continual improvements and extensions to the Club to match its increase in membership. Most recently this has included a multi-level car park, two new function rooms, outdoor terraces and our luxurious new Bambu Lounge which was opened in July 2008.
