Wests says NO to Domestic Violence in the Community

Posted at 23 Nov 2020

Wests supports the 2020 Driving Out Violence convoy this year as part of our commitment to help put an end to family and domestic violence in the community. This shared community initiative between local Police, Campbelltown Council, local organisations and businesses aims to raise awareness of Domestic and Family Violence in the region. Given that Campbelltown LGA has the 2nd highest rate of Domestic Violence in Sydney, Wests is absolutely committed the cause.

The DOV Convoy will run a large vehicle convoy with multiple stops, kicking off from Wests League club from 9am, November 25th, 2020 whereby a team pledge and small socially distanced activation will take place.

Wests Commitment to the initiative

Wests will be showing our support for Driving Out Violence convoy this year as part of our commitment to help put an end to family and domestic violence in the community.

Given that Campbelltown LGA has one of the highest rates of Domestic Violence in Sydney, Wests is absolutely committed the cause.

Wests has a strong position against family and domestic violence, and abides by a set principles that underpin our organisations response to family and domestic violence including A workplace charter that promotes a positive work culture, support for our staff, access to information on entitlements, policies and process in place to ensure our staff remain safe , access to services and leave as well as access a dedicated club contact officer.

To support the initiative and show our commitment to putting an end to domestic violence, we have invited staff to join us as the DV convoy stops first at Wests before making its way around Campbelltown. Our team will be each given white/coloured balloons and stand together in solidarity with a public pledge to take a collective stand against Domestic Violence.

You are invited to join us outside Wests League Club at 9am, 25th November to kick off the 2020 Domestic Violence Convoy and watch as Wests Board member Paul Lake makes the DOV pledge on behalf of the Wests Group teams.
