Wests Group and The Silver Coin Project Back-to-School Stationery Appeal
Wests Group Macarthur has once again partnered with local charity The Silver Coin Project for the Back-to-School Stationery Appeal, supporting children across the Macarthur region as they prepare for the new school year, running from Monday 5th to Saturday 31st of January.
Many children in Australia face barriers accessing essential school resources, which can impact their confidence and ability to thrive in the classroom. Through this partnership, Wests Group aims to help ease that burden by encouraging the community to donate new school stationery and supplies for local families in need.
The Back-to-School Stationery Appeal, held annually in January, featuring donation points across all Wests Group venues. Contributions will support The Silver Coin Project, a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring children have the tools they need for a positive and successful learning experience. Following the appeal, The Silver Coin Project works closely with local schools and community services to distribute donated supplies to children who would otherwise go without, ensuring support reaches those most in need across the Macarthur region.
On partnering with The Silver Coin Project, Wests Group Chairman Alan Buxton comments, “we’re committed to supporting the wellbeing and future of our younger generation. Education plays a vital role in shaping opportunities for young people, and this appeal allows us to support families when they need it most. Through the ClubGRANTS program Wests Group Macarthur provided $30,000 of funding to support disadvantaged Macarthur students with essential school supplies, including uniforms, shoes and bags, items they would otherwise go without.
In addition, to kick off the 2026 school year, all proceeds from The Sherwood meat raffles held on Friday 30th and Sunday 1st of February will be donated to The Silver Coin Project.
